Update #2 on negotiations between TCRC and Via Rail

Dear Sisters and Brothers,
This letter is to keep you informed about the progress of the negotiations currently underway between the TCRC and Via Rail. We met with the Corporation on several days last week and again this week.
So far, discussions have focused primarily on demands related to work rules. We believe some progress has been made in this regard, but that certain issues still need to be discussed and clarified.
The next meetings are scheduled for the first two weeks of February. We anticipate that issues related to monetary demands will be addressed during these meetings.
Our goal remains to reach a negotiated agreement that is satisfactory to our members, and we are continuing to work towards this goal.
We will keep you informed following the next meetings, or beforehand if necessary.
