Update #1 on negotiations between TCRC and Via Rail

Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Since the notice to bargain was exchanged between the parties, your TCRC bargaining committee has had five days of meetings with the Corporation in Montreal. The meetings have so far progressed normally, and contractual demands were exchanged between the parties. The issues important to our membership have been addressed to the Corporation.
At this point, we have seven more days of bargaining scheduled until the end of the year. Our goal, as usual, is to have a negotiated settlement and this is what we are hoping to achieve. We do remain prepared in the alternative.
We will update you as we progress through the process.
