
The Member Foundations Series is a hands-on education program that breaks down how the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference works and how members can actively participate in shaping their workplace and their future.
The program is built to be accessible and flexible:
Whether you’re a new member or a long-service railroader, you can drop in on the topics that matter most to you.
All sessions will be held at:

The modules will be delivered as below, and members may voluntarily attend any session based on their availability.
Day 1 – Tuesday, April 21, 2026

in Canada & TCRC History
Why unions exist, how the TCRC was built, and why solidarity still
matters today.
13:00 – How the
TCRC Works (Structure, Representation & Dues)
How your union is organized, how representation functions, and how
dues fund real advocacy.
Day 2 – Wednesday, April 22, 2026
10:00 – Your
Division
What Divisions do, how they operate, how elections work, and how
members can get involved.
13:00 – Grievances
& Arbitration
How rights are enforced, what the grievance process looks like, and
what to do when issues arise.
15:00 – Formal
Investigations
Your rights during investigations, what fairness looks like, and how
the union supports you.
Day 3 – Thursday, April 23, 2026
10:30 – Collective
Bargaining
How agreements are negotiated, the role members play, and how gains
are achieved.
13:00 – Union
Busting
How to recognize employer tactics, protect one another, and maintain
solidarity on the job.
