Brother David Albert Delcloo

Sisters and Brothers,

It is with deep regret that Division 747 informs you of the peaceful passing of our brother David Albert Delcloo.
David Albert Delcloo
1942-2025, Kingston, Ontario
David passed away April 25th, 2025, from cancer. He was husband of 60 years to Patricia Delcloo (née Swim/Clark), father to David (Valerie Eddleman) and Charlene (John Hladky), grandfather to Albert and William Delcloo and Matthew Hladky. David will be missed by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Rose and Larry Swan (Ottawa) and Curtis and Marion Swim (Wirral, NB). He will be remembered by his cousins, Eleanor Nordquist and Patricia Benson, and their families.

He was born in St. Boniface, MB, in 1942, and lived in Saint John, Montreal, and Kingston. His ability to connect with people resulted in a chain of life long friendships: John and Beverly Skelton (Ottawa), Clifford and Anne-Marie Ruthen (Cambridge, ON) and the Giffin Family (New Brunswick) are a few amongst many.

Twice retired, Canadian National Railways and Via Rail Canada, he was able to devote his time to his lifelong passion for fishing. Known as « Superdad », he was a fishing guru to all. He will be remembered for his spirit of volunteerism especially as Akela of the First Lorraine Cub pack, as dinner chairman for the Atlantic Salmon Federation, Montreal and as chair for the CNR pensioners, Kingston.

We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful people at the AB Smith Homestead House for the their compassion and dedication. They made our sad transition easier.

At David’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral services. Memorial donations may be made to The Atlantic Salmon Federation (https://www.asf.ca/get-involved), The Cancer Centre of South Eastern Ontario (https://kingstonhsc.ca/cancer-care) and The Providence House Hospice (providencecare.ca/hospice/programs-services).
